Pet-Friendly Hotel Stays Made Easier

Taking your dog on the road? Both INNSiDE by Mélia New York Nomad (the Manhattan flagship property of Mélia Hotels International) and the US properties of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts are making it easier to do.

INNSiDE by Mélia New York Nomad has launched a partnership with Paw.com, designer and manufacturer of stylish pet products to enhance its pet and Day Stay programs.

The hotel will deliver a Paw.com faux-fur, human-grade memory foam PupRug pet bed and matching water and scratch proof PupProtector throw blanket to its pet-friendly rooms upon arrival for pups to use for the duration of their stay.

This new amenity will enhance its current pet program and can also be applied to the hotel’s Day Stay program – which allows for remote work use of the guestrooms and access to hotel services for the day for a discounted rate.
Additional highlights of the new amenities as part of the Paw.com partnership include:

• Access to the hotel’s multiple outdoor patios which are now outfitted with Paw.com’s all-season PupLounge outdoor beds.

• Exclusive Paw.com discount for guests to order their very own luxe pet products following their stay.

• Opportunity to shop Paw.com at the hotel’s concierge gift shop, including its all-natural Marlie Mist pet odor eliminator spray.

• Limited-time dog menu at the hotel restaurant The Wilson, which includes choice of entrée sides, dessert and homemade dog biscuits.

Meanwhile, Wyndham, which has more than 4,500 pet-friendly hotels across the US, has teamed up with Rover, America’s largest network of five-star pet sitters and dog walkers. The collaboration offers US guests $30 off their first Rover pet service when they book a qualified stay at any By Wyndham hotel.

The collaboration comes as the US experiences a surge in dog adoptions, sales and fostering amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, a recent poll of pet parents by Rover noted that nearly half had recently acquired a new dog during the pandemic.

“With thousands of pet-friendly locations across the country, our hotels have always been a go-to for families with pets.” said Lisa Checchio, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Many travelers are eager to start planning that next getaway. Our new partnership with Rover and their range of pet services will help pet owners take the guess work out of travel – helping them care for their pets at home or on the great American road trip.”

Rover counts more than 300,000 sitters among its network and connects pet owners with services such as dog boarding, house sitting, dog walking, doggy day care, drop-in visits and grooming in select markets. All new sitters pass a background check, provide a detailed profile and personal information, and are approved by Rover’s team of sitter specialists.

“In joining forces with Wyndham, we’re making it easier for pet owners to travel with their pet. This serves our mission of making it easier for everyone to experience the love of a pet in their lives,” said Kate Jaffe, Trends Expert at Rover. “Wyndham’s pet-friendly hotels allow traveling pet parents to easily accommodate their pets.”
