Hilton expands EventReady Playbook with testing and health resources for meetings while Hyatt explores VeriFLY for events
Beginning this month, Hilton says event planners who book or have booked an event at any Hilton property in the US will be able to access the hotel group’s EventReady Playbook.
The Playbook includes a list of third-party providers that can deploy a variety of COVID-19 testing and health screening options, including handheld temperature check devices, personal health screening checklists, COVID-19 self-testing options and COVID-19 same-day, onsite testing.
The addition of COVID-19 testing and health screening options is the latest evolution of EventReady with CleanStay, Hilton’s global cleanliness and client service program specific to meetings and events.
The initiative comes in response to demand, according to Frank Passanante, senior vice president, Hilton Worldwide Sales, Americas, and “enables third-party providers to deliver a seamless experience and offer preferential pricing to our event planners.”
Meanwhile, Hyatt is exploring the use of VeriFLY + Stay, a mobile health passport for the hospitality industry. The technology uses the VeriFLY app to deliver verification of COVID-19 credentials and travel guidelines.
Hyatt says it will work closely with meeting planners to identify requirements for participants who wish to attend events, such as presenting a recent negative COVID-19 test. The VeriFLY mobile app can communicate those criteria to attendees prior to arrival so they can meet the necessary requirements in much the same way the app is currently being used in the airline industry.
Meeting attendees who satisfy a meeting’s requirements will be able to use the app to display a green checkmark for entry into the meeting or event.
